Summer Youth Programs
SOAR offers two programs for youth and young adults with disabilities throughout the summer.
SOAR Thru Summer provides activities for youth entering 6th grade through their 18th birthday
Evolve provides activities for young adults ages 18-23

SOAR Thru Summer
SOAR thru Summer offers daily activities that ensure fun, safe, and enriching days for youth with developmental disabilities entering sixth grade through eighteenth birthday. Participants enjoy fun group activities, skills-based learning, and field trips in the community.
- Education: Communication, Household Chores, Cooking, Community Navigation, Financial Literacy, Personal/Public Safety!
- Field Trips: Museums, Parks, Art Studios, Nature Preserves, Arcades, Mini Golf, Bowling!
- Fun: Games, Snacks, Crafts, Water Days, Reading, Sports, Messy Days, and more Shenanigans with friends!

2025 Details
- June 16-August 15 with no programming on July 4.
- Monday-Friday, 7:30am-6:00pm (Drop off and Pickup can be flexible within this timeframe)
- Rates: $1,015/week
- Location: Downtown Appleton City Center: STE 201 (2nd floor)
Youth who apply for SOAR thru Summer should be semi-independent and demonstrate appropriate behaviors to maintain a safe group setting. Aggressive behaviors that challenge the safety of other youth will be reevaluated.

SOAR thru Summer utilizes a best-fit application process rather than first come first serve basis. Any youth interested should complete the steps below and will be notified via mail in mid-April.

- If you need to adjust your dates after submitting, please contact Lisa McCallister.
Step 3:
- Please Note: Even if your child is not selected for every week indicated in your application, they still may have the opportunity to attend. If there is an opening as the summer progresses due to increased capacity or cancellation, you may be contacted and offered any weeks that are not full!

SOAR Thru Summer Skills
Skills gained through SOAR Thru Summer participation include: Communication, Gross Motor Skills, Teamwork, Community Navigation, Critical Thinking, Self-Care, Decision Making, Fine Motor Skills, Conflict Resolution, Self-Confidence, Home Care, Sportsmanship, Following Directions, Physical Fitness, Reading/Comprehension, Social Appropriateness, Budgeting, Time Management, and Emotional Regulation.
Evolve Transition Days
Evolve Transition Days offer nine weeks of day service programming for young adults (ages 18-23) with differing abilities. Young adults spend the majority of the week in the community, participating in fun educational and philanthropic activities that encourage them to build real-world skills and explore new or current areas of interest with friends!
- Education: Communication, Job Shadowing, Cooking, Public Transportation, Financial Literacy, Scheduling/Time Management!
- Community Engagement: Museums, Restaurants, Parks, Art Studios, Nature Preserves, Coffee Shops!
- Philanthropy: Community Gardens, Animal Shelters, Thrift Stores!

2025 Details
- June 16-August 15 with no programming on July 4.
- Monday-Friday, 9:00am-3:00pm (Drop off and Pickup can be flexible within this timeframe)
- Rates: $190/day
- NEW: TWO Locations in 2025- The Hub (Downtown Appleton City Center) AND the Clubhouse (SOAR Building). Pickup and Dropoff for both locations will be the SOAR Building: 211 E Franklin St. Appleton. Click Here for more information.
Young adults applying to Evolve need to be independent, have no behavior concerns, and be able to walk throughout the day.

Step 3: Complete and return Evolve Information Release Form
- The Information Release Form is required to communicated with fiscal agent/third party payer.
Step 4: Watch for a letter in April for confirmation on which weeks your child has been selected to attend!
