For Immediate Release:
Special congratulations to SOAR’s Executive Director, Sonia Barham for graduating from the 3rd SILE cohort. The Social Innovation Leadership Experience (SILE) teaches local executives about leading towards solving social problems, instead of just managing them. Developed by Midwest Social Innovation, and funded by the J.J. Keller Foundation and the U.S. Venture Fund for Basic Needs; 14 local non-profit leaders completed this third facilitation of SILE. Throughout the 9 month program, directors gathered on a monthly basis to to study social innovation, visit sites of successful initiatives, and listen to presentations by experts in the field from across the nation. On May 19th, the cohort celebrated a “culminating experience” where each director was honored for finishing their journey in the program. With this training in hand, watch out for new innovative programming coming from SOAR Fox Cities in the future.
